Bambi Gordon shares candidly about her transition from the corporate world to being a small business owner

"If you drink the business cool aid, the most successful business people had a plan.  They formed a strategy. They never wavered in their belief and their confidence.
Though they made mistakes and even big fails, they never took a backward step.  They soldiered on and  eventually hit the big time.
Really?

Is that you?  It sure isn’t me.

With something like 2 million plus small businesses in Australia, does the image of the successful, suited business owner who has all the answers and is now coasting to a pretty fantastic retirement actually reflect the norm?
Or are we hanging off for another week before popping into Officeworks to stock up on toner, as we await a late playing client?
I spent the first half of my career in the corporate sector until I hit that big glass ceiling.
The second half of my career has been in ‘small business’.
I didn’t choose to be there.
I fell into it.  Maybe ‘tripped’ would be a better word....
I look forward to sharing some of the journey I went on in the hope that the crab like steps I have taken feel more in step with your own path – and that we recognise that sharing the mistakes, the failures and the fears is just as valuable as sharing the ‘success’."
